We launched Firecracker MD and DO in August of last year. Since then, the breadth of features, quality of content, and accuracy of the algorithm-driven recommendation engine have expanded substantially, all without an increase to our price. Starting in September, though, we are going to be slightly increasing the permanent price of Firecracker (a bit more on that below). But before we do that, we want to give as many students as possible the chance to get Firecracker at a lower price. So, for the final days of August, we’re dropping our base price to the lowest it has ever been: $180 for 1 year for all M1's & M2's.
Why are we increasing our prices?
We genuinely believe no other single resource provides as much value to med students, and with updates and improvements coming essentially every week, we expect it to improve just as much over the next year.
Not only is the overall value of the system much higher than it was, but the ways in which students can now use it are far more varied. Students can use Firecracker as a deeply integrated course companion with Course Connect, take a lighter path through the content with High Yield, continue using it for the final few weeks of board prep with Dedicated Test Prep Mode, and review material on the go with highly-rated mobile apps. Firecracker can complement your studies with our First Aid and Pathoma citations and centralize your studying with our robust in-app note taking functionality. With Daily Patient Cases, our constantly updated Q-Bank, and our full-length course and clerkship practice exams, you can get an ongoing, accurate, and objective analysis of your mastery. And with our one of a kind Refresh tasks, you get immediate remediation of your weakest areas the moment we identify them.
Because of this (which is only some of what we’ve added), we believe it is fair to increase our base price slightly going forward, and we certainly hope you agree. If not, though, please let us know. As always, we are completely open to candid feedback, whether that’s a criticism of how we’re doing something or a request for something new. You ask, and we’ll do our best to deliver.
