5 years. 80,000 students. 100 Million Questions. (*Actually 115,000,000, but who’s counting. ;))
We’ve hit a milestone here at Firecracker - over 100 million questions have been answered by our users. That’s the equivalent of a stack of flashcards 13 miles high - twice the height of Mt. Rushmore. More importantly, 100,000,000 completed questions represents thousands of students crushing their MCAT and USMLE exams.
Firecracker is built on the principle of spaced repetition: reviewing study material then answering questions at carefully spaced intervals to improve recall. Firecracker has created 3,500 study topics with 35,000 review questions to help students studying for the MCAT and USMLE. We track students’ progress, and our algorithm determines when students need to review questions for the best retention, and therefore the best test performance.
We know that practice questions on Firecracker improve test outcomes. We analyzed usage of Firecracker and compared it with test outcomes and discovered the following, that Firecracker users test performance improves based on the number of Firecracker questions they covered daily:
|Questions Per Day||Avg Step 1 Score||Median Step 1 Score|
