We asked Remi a few questions about Firecracker, medical education, and the field of medicine in general:
Q: When and how did you become involved with Firecracker?
A: I started using Firecracker at the beginning of M1 and saw they were hiring editors. Teaching has been a significant part of my undergraduate/graduate education and I wanted to be involved in medical education as well.
Q: Why do you love Firecracker?
A: It is such an adaptable platform. As an editor, I can incorporate my experiences learning the material as well as user feedback in real time back into the product. From the beginning of my association with Firecracker, I was impressed by the constant desire to improve the product by everyone with the company.
Q: What would you be doing if you were not in medicine?
A: Stay home and play with my son all day.
Q: If there were one thing you could change about medical education, what would it be?
A: I love it when teachers say "this is how I remember this" and make a seemingly complex topic intuitive. More of this.
Q: If there were one thing you could change about the field of medicine in general, what would it be?
A: More financial incentive to keep healthy people healthy.
