Want to see a question again? Well today’s your lucky day.
Today, we’re thrilled to announce the launch of one of the most frequently requested features since we launched Firecracker MD and DO last year: Anki-esque question ‘Snooze’. That’s right, now in your review sessions you can choose to shuffle any question you want back into your review session so that it will randomly appear again later within that same session. Better yet, you can snooze a card as many times as you'd like, and we'll only record the final review score for that question.
Oh, what’s that? You have some questions? Well let me answer them.
“When will I see the question again?”
Well it wouldn’t be a surprise if I told you that. But you will see it soon… Fine, I’ll tell you; you’ll see the snoozed question again randomly within the next 15 or so questions.
“What if I don’t remember if I’ve already snoozed this card?”
Fear not, you sweet neurotic med student, you; we’ve taken care of that. At the top left of a snoozed card will be a little indicator that says 'Previously Snoozed'. It’s nearly impossible to miss.
“Do I enter a review score each time I see the question?”
Nope. Hitting snooze on a question immediately shuffles it back into the deck without a review score. So, if you want to see the question again, don’t rate it. Just hit snooze. When you’re done snoozing a question, give it a review score.
“Is there anything else I should be aware of?”
I’m so glad you ask. Yes - just be honest about how well you know the snoozed question when you finally give it a review score. You see, the biggest reason we’ve delayed this feature until now is because we are concerned about recency bias. That is, we didn’t want students to incorrectly assume they know the concepts better than they really do simply because they've seen it several times in a short amount of time. After much consideration, we decided to just trust you all. After all, you’re smart. You’ll be fine.
