AMEC - 50 Years Forward

Firecracker had the pleasure of attending the 50th Anniversary Annual Medical Education Conference (AMEC) in Washington D.C. this past week!

Since 1964, The Student National Medical Association has met yearly to support current and future underrepresented minority medical students in their paths to becoming clinically excellent physicians. The hundreds of pre-meds and medical students at AMEC this year attended presentations by leaders in the medical community, participated in workshops for academic and professional development, and met with representatives from dozens of medical schools.

And students were able to speak with us about Firecracker! Some were taking the MCAT later this summer, others were getting ready for next year's Step 1. Many were happy Firecrackers stopping by our booth just to say hi! We were excited to show them how Firecracker can be customized to their individual needs, whatever they may be.

Everyone who dropped by got a caricature drawing. Lots of smiles!

Coming from New England in April, we couldn't have asked for better timing. Springtime in Washington is amazing - cherry blossoms are everywhere!

Here's to another 50 years of AMEC. See you next year for the 51st, SNMA!
